Konkan Coast Challenge - the Awesome back up team.

To complete the 600km run in ten days was a great feat, some days Dan was required to run 95 km in 39 degree heat. However none of this would have been possible without the superb work of Ann and Lilly, who were there in support for the whole distance.

A big thank you also goes out to Myles who was also a member of the 'awesome three'. Myles rode alongside Dan for the first half of the run. His bike purchased in Alibag, was stuck in gear 18 -a nightmare up those frequent hills. To make the journey even harder for him the bike did not free wheel so the downhills were just as hard as the up.

On December 22nd 2009 Dan and his back up team reached Canacona, Goa 10 days after they left Mumbai.

In early May 2009 Dan decided he would run from Mumbai to Canacona to raise money for the football club. The plan was to complete the 600km run in just ten days and a fundraising target of £1500 was set.

One month after the run with donations still rolling in we have managed to raise just over £5000 !

Dan and his awesome back up team completed the run within the ten day target. 'The whole thing was such a great adventure' said Dan 'Physically my body coped really well, in fact I am totally in awe of how amazing our bodies are.'

For the last kilometre of the epic run the young people of the Football Club of Canacona joined in.
